Foster Care Program

Who We Are

The foster program helps extend animal care and capacity beyond the shelter walls. Shelter space and resources are limited, but thanks to the work of foster families, it's possible to create a virtual shelter in the community for the most vulnerable animals. Fosters offer a safe, supportive environment and give animals the best possible place to wait for a loving home.

What We Do

Foster caregivers open their homes to animals who may be too young, recovering from illness or injury, or simply in need of a break from the shelter. This extra space and personalized care allow us to increases our capacity and supports our animals' overall wellbeing.

Volunteers can assist the foster program remotely in a variety of roles, including foster case managers, foster orientation and training assistants, foster animal marketing and promotions, adoption event handling, data entry specialists, and more. These roles are essential to ensuring foster caregivers and animals receive the support they need throughout the process.
